That’s all it takes. One year, well 10 months actually! And then you have two qualifications that allow you to work anywhere in the world as a PADI Dive Instructor.

Train with us for four days a week and change your life:
Learn how to plan and run dive trips
Learn how to teach new divers
Learn how to organise and maintain SCUBA gear, interpret weather information, and lead groups on underwater explorations.
Gain a variety of other valuable skills such as Advanced First Aid, Retail and Sales techniques.
How the course works:
This course will start you from Open Water diver and you will progress through the PADI Certification levels all the way to specialty instructor.
You’ll complete at least 100 dives, both in the Bay of Plenty and at other amazing dive sites throughout New Zealand. You’ll do a couple of trips away to experience other New Zealand dive regions and we’ll invite you out on our weekend boat trips for free (space permitting).
But wait, there’s more – you’ll also get to observe and assist on Open Water courses throughout the year, giving you valuable exposure to life as a dive instructor. By the time you graduate you will have the confidence and experience to start your career in the dive industry as an internationally recognised PADI Specialty Dive Instructor.

Course runs 4 days a week Monday - Thursday with core hours of 8.30-4.30.
Some days have earlier starts, later finishes if we are out diving!
