Why you should learn to dive with Dive Zone Tauranga

Quite simply when you learn to dive with Dive Zone Tauranga you are learning from the best in the business. All our instructors love their jobs and are passionate about diving and absolutely love the opportunity to share their knowledge with new divers. 
We don't cut corners or rush you, our courses are designed to give you the knowledge and skill level you need, to get you out there diving and keep diving and most importantly have fun along the way! There are no hidden costs in our course fees, all you need to supply is your own mask and snorkel and we take care of everything else!

What the Course involves :

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
Online knowledge development ( E learning) to understand basic principles of scuba diving. This is done in your own time prior to starting your confined water dives. Allow 8-10 hours  to complete this. 
Confined water dives to learn basic scuba skills, this is done over 2 days in our indoor heated pool.
4 Open water dives done over 2 days, typically one day is done at Lake Rotoma and one day out on our comfortable dive boat Ruku Moana

What is included:

Try before you buy! If you are a little nervous or just not sure if diving is for you, book in for a Discover Scuba Session and if following this you book on our Open Water course we will take the cost of this of your course fees. 
10% discount in store, All students are given 10% discount in store for the 3 months after their course
All scuba gear is provided during the course, this includes 7mm wetsuit, hood and gloves if necessary. All you need to provide is your own mask and snorkel, we have these for sale in store.

Prerequisites

Children must be over 10 to get PADI Open Water certified. Children over the age of 12 can join our scheduled courses, for under 12 please contact us to discuss options.

All participants must be able to swim 200 metres non-stop & tread water for 10 minutes unassisted.   
A satisfactory RSTC Dive Medical (which requires sign-off from your GP if pre-existing medical conditions are present.) Please complete this medical form ( see below) honestly BEFORE signing up for the course

Before booking please review the  PADI medical questionnaire at the bottom of this page. Answer the medical questions honestly for your safety and ours. If all answers are No you are fit to dive, if you answer Yes to any of the questions, you will need sign off by a Doctor. 

Cancellation / Rescheduling

Once your course is booked no refund will be issued if you decide to pull out prior to the course start date or after the course has started for any reason.

Your course can be rescheduled providing you give us a least 2 weeks notice . Within 2 weeks or or after the course has started $200 rebooking fee will apply.

This includes if you have to withdraw or change dates for any reason, including illness, injury, not passing medical requirements, equalizing problems, failure to complete the elearning or swim test.

This reschedule fee is required to be paid prior to confirming the new course dates.

We reserve the right to reschedule the course in the rare event that minimum course numbers are not met. In this event reschedule fee will be waived or a full refund will be offered.

Additional pool sessions are available if you feel you need more time to master a particular skill or would like more one on one time with an instructor. This is subject to availability and will incur an additional fee of $120
